Hi Chuck, Back in '56 you came to my high school. The school officials suddenly had new plans upon your arrival. Very rude of them but you told me that since their new plans didn't include you in the auditorium, that you would still get your money as long as you performed at the school. So you set up your show upstairs with just me and you in the lunchroom. Cool. I opened my lunch sack and you set down your red guitar and asked me "What's for lunch?" I said "I don't know what Mom made yet". You said "As long as Mom made it, (it's gotta be good)" (great title for a song). So we shared my lunch, our lunch. It was tuna fish and tomato sandwiches. Also, shared a thermos of milk. After our lunch you played some great rock and roll music and one of the songs you said you wrote on the plane up here to Seattle. You asked me to tell you after you played it if it was going to be a hit or miss. After you played it I said "A HIT". It was a big hit later and I don't remember if it was Maybellene or another one but it seems to me it was Maybellene. That was a long time ago. You were wearing red pants and had a red guitar with strings that hung way out over the keys. One snapped but we were safe and sound. You put on a great show standing there directly in front of me and my ears were young and could take it. I think you had another school to go to or some engagement at another place with your guitar. If there is some other way I can contact you, please let me know so I can send you my address because I would like to hear from you by post card or letter. Would also like to send you a photo of myself back in '56 because you might remember that time there at the school. I remember it very well and it has been good memories. This has kept you in my thoughts and prayers through the years. Thanks for the one on one show in 1956. Your friend, Cliff Crook, Bothell, Washington

I’m living in north of Sweden and is now 11 years old. I have been on a live show with you, in Sunne, Sweden, 1998, and it was a fantastic show. I hope many Chuck Berry fans will send email to me and I will answer you! I love rock… best wishes, Lars.

Mr. Chuck Berry

You're the trunk of a big ole rock and roll family tree that'll never die and there wouldn't be no leaves on that tree today without the trunk!

The roots of that tree run deeper than even you, but how far would the leaves branch out without the trunk? What's rock and roll with no Chuck Berry? I don't wanna know! You're the man and we love you!

Keep on reelin' and rockin' and rollin' 'cause no one else knows how to rock AND roll and do it right, no one else ever did and no one else ever will!

WE LOVE YOU! THANK YOU!

From one of the millions of pupils the world over you never knew you had who owe their lives as they know it to you!

One of my happiest days was December 10, 2003, when I had a chance to visit Chuck's concert in St. Petersburg. I'd like to thank him for that day. It was great! I hope you'll have a chance to come again soon. I wish you good health and happiness.

Poetry and fun, that's why Chuck is King.

I’m another one that my Berry taughtto play guitar through his records. I even got my nickname from his playing style. I spent 30 years playing clubs and loved every minute of it.

Thank’s Chuck!

Hi Chuck!!! I’m a great fan of you andyour guitarplaying and I have a pretty strange question: What gauge did the strings have which you used in the fifties. Is it true that they were heavy gauge strings .012 / .013 with a wound third? Thanks a lot!

Sincerely Yours Lorenz Stark

Hello Mr. Chuck Berry! I’m so excyted just to be able to write to you. I have always wanted to see you play live, but can’t seem to find out where you are playing. I hope I find you in good health and spirits. I am handicapped and can’t drive but if you could please send me a list of dates of the times and places you will be playing, I will surely find a way to be sitting in your audiance to listen to my legend. And if you could please provide me with info on how I can get a shirt of you and other collectable items. Thank you for your time. God bless you and Rock On!
